ESWA has a new Executive Director!

ESWA has a new Executive Director!

We are thrilled to share that after an extensive recruitment process, Kali Sudhra (they/ellx/she) has been selected as the new Executive Director of ESWA.

Kali has long been a vital organiser in the sx workers’ rights movement, previously serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors of ESWA.

In their own words:

My name is Kali Sudhra (they/ellx/she). Many of you may know me from my work over the last four and a half years as an ESWA board member, while to others, I may be a new face. Regardless of where our paths have crossed, I am honored to step into this role and continue our important work together.

As a brown queer sex worker, educator and activist, my commitment to this movement is rooted in my lived experience. My dedication to sex workers’ rights is not a separate pillar of my professional life, it is the foundation of everything I do. Having spent years organising and advocating alongside those directly impacted by criminalisation, stigma, and exclusion, I am deeply committed to ESWA’s mission: a movement that is sex worker-led, unapologetically political, and grounded in collective power.

My vision for ESWA is that we remain resilient, sex worker led, that we uphold our values of collective liberation, and that we practice proactive advocacy to move beyond responding to challenges to actively shaping the future of our rights through solidarity.

I look forward to caring for our existing partnerships and building new ones as we navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you for your continued support of ESWA and the sex worker community.

We are beyond excited to work with Kali in this new capacity!

Stay tuned to get to know Kali and the rest of the team better - we will soon publish a video where ESWA team members share what it is exactly we do at ESWA, why sex workers' rights are important to us, and who we are outside of work.
