About

About the campaign

Present manifesto has been drafted on the occasion of the International Women’s Day (8th of March) by sex workers, feminists and sex workers’ rights activists from Europe. The drafting process has been coordinated by the European Sex Workers' Rights Alliance (formerly the International Committee on the Rights of Sex Workers in Europe).

The manifesto aims to shine a spotlight on the support of women’s rights and feminists organisations, groups and collectives, and feminist individuals, for the recognition of sex work as work and the decriminalisation of sex work. With the current debates on sex work legal reforms and the attacks on women’s and reproductive rights, we find it crucial to raise awareness of the criminalisation, violence, human rights violations and stigma affecting sex workers within the broader feminist movement. We hope to mobilise allies in order to jointly fight against negative trends affecting women, LGBT people, migrants and sex workers in Europe and Central Asia.
