2025 was a year of challenges and transformation for ESWA. It has tested our resilience, demanded adaptability, and in many ways, clarified the urgency of our work. Across Europe and globally, the political landscape has grown increasingly hostile. The continued rise of far-right movements has intensified attacks on human rights and bodily autonomy. Civic spaces are shrinking and funding streams, that were already limited, are drying up. Sex-worker-led organisations have felt this contraction acutely. At a time when support is most needed, resources have become harder to access. Hard-won progress is also being threatened.
