ESWA is looking for new board members!

We have an exciting opportunity to share with ESWA Members!

ESWA is looking for new board members! - DEADLINE 31st May 2026

Please forward the application below with the attached document to your organisations' listservs, your contacts and members.

Attached to this email:

1. Terms of Reference

2. Board application form

3. Board member endorsement form

This year, we have 2 seats available for new board members to join. We strive to ensure geographic balance in our board. Looking at our current board composition, we strongly encourage applicants from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEEA) to apply for this election.

We invite you to self-nominate as a board member, following the process below.

We know that gender-based confidence gaps and structural barriers often discourage people from marginalised communities from applying unless they meet every requirement. If you believe you could contribute to this role and are motivated to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t tick every box.

Please read the Terms of Reference attached to this position for the full information on the role responsibilities.

How to apply?

  • We only accept self-nominations that use the application form attached to this email.
  • The self-nomination needs to be supported by letters / formal endorsement from two member organisations of ESWA, including one sex worker-led organisation. Your endorsement can be done by using the endorsement form, but another signed letter is also accepted.

The deadline for self-nomination is the 31st of May 2026 at 23.59 CET.

Email your application form to [email protected]

Please note: any self-nomination without the application form, sent to a different email address than [email protected] or after the deadline will not be taken into consideration.

The election process

  1. After receiving the self-nominations, we will announce the candidate on the ESWA email list-serv
  2. Sex worker-led members of ESWA (members A) will be invited to vote for the new Board members.
  3. The new board members will be elected during our 2026 General Assembly on the 16th of June.
