ESWA is happy to invite all community members, partners and allies to the launch of our newest research:
Deepfakes and Sex Work: Harms, Benefits, and Worker-Led Recommendations.
AI and deepfakes are trending topics, and sexual content is among the most prevalent (and consequential) applications of this technology.
But despite how clearly these intersect, the impact of these technologies on sex workers' lives and work is rarely part of the conversation.
This research, the result of over six months of work, sets out to close that gap. Join the launch as our lead researcher, Blade Varen, walks us through the methodology, key findings, and recommendations, followed by a Q&A.
The launch is open to sex workers, digital rights activists, journalists, policymakers, survivors of technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV), and anyone interested in sex workers' perspectives on deepfakes.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Your support means the world to us!
